interviewer：to start with ❶ , may i know why you are interested in working for our company?

interviewer： now you are with yuandong company. what is your chief responsibility

there?

victor：i'm in charge of ¹ activities in south-east asia, for example, organizing

interviewer：do you have any questions about the job?

victor：yes. are there chances for employees to be transferred to overseas branches of the

company?

interviewer：certainly. this is an international company, and there're good chances for you

to work overseas.

victor：that would be good.

❶ “to start with”在这里用来强调要列举或陈述的事实或观点的第一个，可译

为“首 先”， 例 如： there are problems. to start with, neither of us likes

housework.（有几个问题。首先，我们没有谁喜欢干家务活。）另外，“to

start with”还可用于谈论某种情况开始时的状况（尤其该情况后来发生变
